My director thought I was crazy for taking the collaborative project on along with all of my other duties, but I did anyway. What made this project such an intensive endeavor is that involved a teacher who would be traveling to Germany with some of her students near the end of the project and that she cooked-up and implemented all three projects while planning this trip.
The teacher's name is Valerie Rousse and she teachers German at Strath Haven Middle School. Valerie and I have developed a rapport of deep respect for one another that helped us to conquer three projects for three different grade-level classes using four different technologies over a course of several days. Did I mention that two different subsitutes would fill-in while Valerie was in Germany.
From the documents posted, the projects had been successful in class before but this time techology was integrated. Using Valerie's lesson plans I showed her how to use and apply Windows Photostory 3, Windows Movie Maker XP, the Flip Mino Camera, Glogster EDU, and a host of web links for research in order to add some interest and excitement to each. With so much for Valerie to master, I agreed to help train the students and support the subs while she was gone. Since, many students had worked with each tool in a computer class, social studies, or language arts class at the middle school in the past, training was more of a refresher. Each class, produced high quality, engaging media that demonstrated not only the knowledge of German subject matter but of technology tools as well.
